We spent 4 days in the Archeological Park, we learned about it and we observed it.
Issues related to the establishment of an archaeological recreation park in the destroyed part of the Ark fortress were discussed in cooperation with archaeologists and specialists.
In the center of Bukhara, the preservation of cultural heritage objects and their effective promotion in the direction of tourism are ongoing.
The experts of the Department of Cultural Heritage, the Bukhara Regional Branch of the Samarkand Archaeological Institute, and the experts of the Bukhara State Museum-Reserve conducted a field study of the Ark fortress.
The Ark fortress, which later became the residence of the Khans of Bukhara and later the amiral, is the oldest monument of Bukhara. Archeological layers belonging to the beginning of our era are located much deeper under the current foundations.
Over the years, issues related to the establishment of an archaeological recreation park in the part of the Ark fortress destroyed by various influences were discussed in cooperation with experienced archaeologists and experts in the field.
The first written information about the Ark is in the book "History of Bukhara" by Narshahi (899-960): "Bidun Bukhor-Khudot, governor of Bukhara, built this fortress, but soon it fell down, and after that the governor killed the wise men. z, and they advised him to build the castle on seven pillars in the shape of the constellation Ursa Major. Based on this plan, the Ark was built and it did not collapse.
The main entrance of the arch is architecturally built in the form of two-columned towers, the upper part of which is connected with bars, and a porch is built on top of it. A large complex of buildings is located in the interior of the Ark. The eastern half of the arch is currently an archaeological site.
As the Ark became the center of a feudal city, it housed a palace, government offices, a prison, a treasury, and mosques. So, the supreme government of the country. The work of the supreme government governing the state was carried out from here.
To the west of the arch, in the period before the Arab invasion, the Registan square was formed, which was once a crowded public center of the city. Until the 13th century, there were administrative buildings of devans (ministries) and residential palaces of noble officials, and later market stalls.
